In an effort to efficiently handle business concerns and
to maximize your time as a volunteer, the Board of Directors implemented a
taskforce system in the year
2002. Here is what you can
expect to see from this system.
|
Chat
groups that brainstorm solutions to specific area of concern. For
example, persons interested in tourism, workforce development, recruitment,
retention, legislation, promotions, business development, etc. will gather to
offer ideas and suggestions.
|
|
From
those groups and from the recommendation of the Board of Directors,
taskforces will be established.
|
|
Each
taskforce will have one goal. They will determine an appropriate
timeline that works around the schedules of those volunteering. The
Director will help them to establish a budget and identify funding sources
from which to achieve their goal.
|
|
Some
taskforces will need a few months to reach their goal, and others will need
longer. However, each taskforce will be reviewed by the Board of
Directors at the annual planning retreat to see if they will be reinstated.
|
|
This
system will allow members to volunteer for particular projects of their
interest and with a time commitment that will work for them.
|
|
New
taskforces can be created throughout the year as needed and deemed by the
economy, business climate, and business needs.
|
|
The
Chamber will be able to respond to YOUR needs in an efficient and proactive
manner.
